Nick Kyrgios’ girlfriend, Costen Hatzi, bid farewell to New York City on Wednesday following the Australian’s defeat and subsequent outburst in the quarterfinals of the 2022 US Open.

Hatzi — a Sydney-based blogger and Instagram influencer — took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of herself smiling in Times Square.

“Goodbye NYC you were amazing,” Hatzi captioned the post.

Kyrgios was ousted from the US Open on Tuesday when he fell to Russia’s Karen Khachanov in five sets, 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6. The match concluded after nearly four hours, with Kyrgios throwing a tantrum on the court.

In now-viral footage, the 27-year-old Kyrgios is seen walking towards his bags and repeatedly smashing his tennis racket after his Grand Slam dreams were crushed. He also grabbed a second racket and threw it to the ground, which caused it to nearly bounce over the net.

Kyrgios has since been fined $14,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct over the outburst, which marked the largest fine of the US Open so far.

“I honestly feel like s–t. I feel like I’ve let so many people down,” Kyrgios said in a post-match press conference, adding he is “obviously devastated” over the quarterfinal outcome.

In total, Kyrgios was fined $32,500 for his behavior at this year’s US Open. Earlier in the tournament, Kyrgios was fined $7,500 for spitting and wearing.

It’s unclear what the future holds for Kyrgios concerning his tennis career. He’s likely headed back to Australia for some R&R after his run at the US Open, where Hatzi received plenty of TV time as she watched him play.

Earlier this year, Kyrgios and Hatzi foreshadowed a future together with “little ones” during a joint appearance on Australia’s “Today.”

Kyrgios made his relationship with Hatzi Instagram official last December, not long after his highly publicized split from Chiara Passari. The athlete has been accused of assaulting his ex stemming from an incident in late 2021.
