PFT’s picks for NFL Week 11 in 2022

Ten weeks later, there are eight weeks left.

Every game, every week, we’ll give you our picks.

This week, MDS and I are at odds over three games. Last week we disagreed on two.

I took the Vikings and the Steelers. Yeah, my Minnesota pick was based on Case Keenum playing quarterback. Sometimes, however, it’s better to be lucky than bad.

For the season, I’m not so bad. Although 8-6 wasn’t great for Week 10, I’m 95-54-1. The MDS is 83-66-1.

For all the Week 11 picks, scroll down.

Titans (+3) at Packers

MDS Tasks: I’m not ready to throw any dirt on the Packers just yet, and after Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, I think they’re going to have a little run here and put themselves in playoff contention.

The choice of MDS: Packers 24, Titans 17.

Florio’s Tasks: Run and stop running will be the formula tonight. Advantage, Titans.

Florio’s choice: Titans 23, Packers 17.

Bears (+3) at Falcons

MDS Tasks: Justin Fields may have become the NFL’s most exciting player, but he’s still not a good enough passer, and the Falcons will win a low-scoring game.

The choice of MDS: Falcons 14, Bears 13.

Florio’s Tasks: The NFL’s new Mike Vick travels to the town where Vick started and comes out with a well-deserved victory.

Florio’s choice: Bears 28, Falcons 24.

Browns (+8) at Bills

MDS Tasks: On what promises to be a snowy day in Buffalo, I think we’re looking at a tight, low-scoring game, but the Bills should ultimately win.

The choice of MDS: Bills 16, Browns 13.

Florio’s Tasks: The Bills need to recover, before it’s too late.

Florio’s choice: Bills 31, Browns 20.

Eagles (-7) at Colts

MDS Tasks: Jeff Saturday surprised people in his first game as head coach of the Colts on Sunday, then the Eagles surprised people by losing their first game of the season on Monday. But no surprises are to come in this one.

The choice of MDS: Eagles 27, Colts 17.

Florio’s Tasks: Jeff Saturday will quickly realize it’s not the Raiders. That said, Indy has enough to cover the seven-point gap.

Florio’s choice: Eagles 20, Colts 16.

Jets (+3) at Patriots

MDS Tasks: All four AFC East teams are in playoff contention, making this a big game. Look for the Patriots defense to play well against Zach Wilson as New England wins.

The choice of MDS: Patriots 20, Jets 14.

Florio’s Tasks: The Pats are getting better and better.

Florio’s choice: Patriots 23, Jets 17.

Rams (+4.5) to Saints

MDS Tasks: The Rams have been a big disappointment as defending Super Bowl champions, and without Cooper Kupp, I just don’t think their offense will have much life in New Orleans.

The choice of MDS: Saints 17, Rams 14.

Florio’s Tasks: Matthew Stafford may be back, but Cooper Kupp’s absence will make it even more difficult for a dysfunctional offense to function properly.

Florio’s choice: Saints 21, Rams 17.

Lions (+3) in the Giants

MDS Tasks: The Lions are on a two-game winning streak and I’m tempted to take the surprise here, but the Giants have shown a knack for coming in late in close games, and I think they will do it again.

The choice of MDS: Giants 21, Lions 20.

Florio’s Tasks: Somehow the Giants keep rolling.

Florio’s choice: Giants 24, Lions 17.

Panthers (+13) to Ravens

MDS Tasks: Lamar Jackson should have a big game against an overmatched Panthers defense and the Ravens should cross.

The choice of MDS: Ravens 35, Panthers 17.

Florio’s Tasks: Big lead for the Ravens. Filthy time scores for the Panthers. Baltimore continues to prove its Super Bowl chops.

Florio’s choice: Crows 35, Panthers 21.

Commanders (-3) at Texans

MDS Tasks: The Commanders have won four of their last five games, and they will go five of six with a win over a Texas team that just isn’t competitive.

The choice of MDS: Majors 24, Texans 16.

Florio’s Tasks: I thought I’d take a surprise here until I remembered that Lovie Smith, then Bears coach, fired Ron Rivera as the defensive coordinator of the team he was playing for. Ron won’t forget, and he won’t waste the opportunity to stick with Lovie.

Florio’s choice: Majors 21, Texans 14.

Raiders (+2.5) at Broncos

MDS Tasks: The two most disappointing first-year coaches of this year face off in Denver, and I think Nathaniel Hackett will get a big win while Josh McDaniels will suffer another narrow loss.

The choice of MDS: Broncos 17, Raiders 10.

Florio’s Tasks: As Nathaniel Hackett said, someone has to win. Even if no one deserves it.

Florio’s choice: Broncos 16, Raiders 13.

Cowboys (-1.5) at Vikings

MDS Tasks: The Vikings have the better record, but the Cowboys are the better team. They will prove it in Minnesota.

The choice of MDS: Cowboys 24, Vikings 17.

Florio’s Tasks: The Vikings have become the ultimate research team for 2022.

Florio’s choice: Vikings 30, Cowboys 27.

Bengals (-4) at Steelers

MDS Tasks: The Steelers picked up an overtime win when these teams met in Week 1, but the Bengals will win easily this time.

The choice of MDS: Bengals 31, Steelers 20.

Florio’s Tasks: Hard to ignore the Steelers, but the Bengals realize what’s at stake. Plus, those all-white uniforms are too awesome not to give them an edge.

Florio’s choice: Bengals 20, Steelers 17.

Chiefs (-5.5) at Chargers

MDS Tasks: Patrick Mahomes is on his way to another MVP award, and the Chargers just aren’t playing at the level a team with their talent should be. I like that the Chiefs won this one and put more distance between themselves and the rest of the AFC West.

The choice of MDS: Leaders 30, Chargers 20.

Florio’s Tasks: Kansas City just keeps getting better. The Chargers continue to spin their wheels through the mud.

Florio’s choice: Leaders 35, Chargers 27.

49ers (-8) vs. Cardinals

MDS Tasks: This year’s game in Mexico City pits a 49ers team that exceeded expectations against a Cardinals team that fell short of expectations. I don’t much like the Cardinals’ chances to score against a good 49ers defense.

The choice of MDS: 49ers 20, Cardinals 10.

Florio’s Tasks: The 49ers are slowly finding their rhythm, on both sides of the ball.

Florio’s choice: 49ers 28, Cardinals 13.
